NASHVILLE, Tenn. – Zycron was named a 2009 finalist for the Nashville Business Journal’s Best in Business Award, an honor that recognizes some of Middle Tennessee’s fastest growing and best managed companies.

Zycron, the international information technology consulting firm with domestic offices in Nashville, Memphis, Chattanooga and Dallas, was featured in the 101 to 500 employees category.

“Zycron is honored to be considered as a leading IT service provider in Middle Tennessee and around the country,” said Darrell Freeman, founder and chairman of Zycron.

Zycron has maintained successful operations since 1991 when Freeman founded the organization with best friend and business partner Vincent Windrow. Zycron has grown to a $20 million firm with plans to increase annual revenue to $100 million in the next five to seven years.

Freeman brought in 20-year IT executive Steven Howard Smith in 2007 to lead Zycron’s growth and expansion efforts. Smith is Zycron’s current president and CEO, and since joining the organization, Zycron has acquired key clients such as the State of Tennessee and the City of Memphis project management division.
